The deputy clerk shall assume the powers and duties of the clerk only in the absence of the clerk from the office, or by written direction from the clerk to exercise particular powers and duties, or when the assembly determines by resolution that the clerk is unable to perform the duties of the office. The deputy clerk shall perform other functions and duties related to the legislative process under the supervision and direction of the clerk. [Ord. 91-02 §2, 1991; Ord. 85-26-O §2, 1985.
